I really like this collection for a similar purpose that different reviewers have listed. The visuals, limitless depth of characters, and complex storyline will not allow you to down. However one in all my favourite elements of this story is the gracefully clumsy FBI agent. I laughed out loud (in public) a number of instances throughout this story, principally when she joined in. It is a bit odd in the long run, as a result of she would not play a significant function within the story in the long run – I hope he brings her again in later books.

I’ve solely learn two of Dave Robicheaux’s novels, but when they have been all nearly as good I would be shocked. The story feels rooted in actual fact, if not absurd. A gritty detective story with all of the necessities, sexual decadence, evil psychopaths, spoiled DA, alcoholic drinkers, fats girls… Its focus is Dave Robicheaux, a person wealthy in emotion and depth, is able to kick the ass of anybody who deserves it.
